For the 17 nights of the 2004 Olympic Games, a 400-foot long meteor of light raced up Athens' tallest hill, sharing the nighttime skyline with a newly relit Acropolis. Seen from throughout the city and beyond, and by TV audiences worldwide, the Athens Olympic Meteor excited, enthralled and delighted the citizens of Athens and the millions of visitors who came there for those 17 days of the 2004 Olympics. The Athens Olympic Meteor was created by light artist Mitch Benoff and the talented and dedicated team of people who assisted him in its creation and presentation. |
